Wandering around in hart house Toronto, I am often mesmerized by the small architectural details of this building. Being one of the most well-known downtown cultural hubs, the ambiance of hart house is infused with a richness of creativities.
Most of us celebrate academic geniuses for their academic accomplishments, of which are usually glorified to be the stepping stones of their prospective successes in the real world. If there are many lessons to be learned from the real world, an important one that I have learned is that popular assumptions are not always the accurate predictions of reality and future events.
Having education is extremely important. That being said, academic successes do not always translate themselves into the conventional ideas of success in the real world.
Often time, the real world successes are achieved, based on our level of resourcefulness, adaptability, and practicality of the learned knowledge. Having amassed a well of academic knowledge but lacked skill to showcase them is usually what hinders us reaching our summit in the real world.
