A Dream State Of Oblivion

It is early seven o’clock in the morning. Instead of waking up from a sweet dream, I woke up from a nightmare.

What is it about a nightmare that frightens most of us? Is it because of the deep seeded feelings that it stirs up? Is it because of the resemblance that it shares with real life situations? Or, is it because of the fact that most of the nightmarish details can’t be recalled in the waking hours, after they have become moments in the past?

I’m uncertain. Maybe certain moments in life are better left behind, in a dream state of oblivion.
