Living in a cold climate, it’s easy for me to catch people’s noticeable changes in behaviors as the season transitions from warm to cold. The typical winter day can either be gloomy and wet or sunny and cold. In a particular Canadian winter, where months of snow are always expected to make their free fall, many Canadians can feel grumpy and depressed.
Winter depression is a real and serious issue. The lack of natural colors during the winter months certainly has exacerbated the problem.
On the outside world, though hibernation is the “it” word at this time of year; however, we can personally inject a few pops of color into our own lives to uplift our mood and to brighten up our inner world. Wear something bright, put a pot of bright color plant on the work desk are just two of the many ways to fight against the winter blue.
