We have all heard that beauty is everywhere. Although we know it to be true; however, how many of us are actually looking at our world from this perspective, habitually, in our own lives? Even when we stop to snap pictures of an object or a scene that we consider beautiful in the street, we quickly press the touch screen button on our phone, seize the moment, throw the phone back to our pocket, and proceed with our journey. Rarely do we take a lengthy time to pause and examine the elements that make up of what it is that we think is beautiful.
I came across this graffiti drawing in a parking lot earlier today. I stopped to examine it. It was like a dream of tropical paradise, dangling in a freezing Canadian sky. Maybe, the reason why such a beautiful work is presented in such a spot is because the artist may have wanted the beauty of his or her work to be appreciated genuinely by those, who care enough to stop.
