Entering A New Year Is Like Attempting To Read A New Book

A new beginning is exciting and refreshing. With the brand new year just a few days away, many people are looking forward to a brand new start to either keep the momentum that they have built in 2014 going or leave all the setback and disappointment that they have experienced over the course of this year behind.

A brand new start does bring in hopes and promises. As hopeful and promising as the idea of a brand new start appears to be, we must prepare ourselves for the first few steps of bumpy ride as we gradually ease our way into the brand new experience.

Every time when I finish reading a book and move onto another one, I always find myself struggling to get through the first chapter. I have yet to get used to the newness of the book and the resonance between the book and I just isn’t there yet. As I continue to flip the pages, as I continue with my journey in a whole new world, my resonance with it is established with time. The groove is laid.

Entering into a brand new year is like attempting to read the first chapter of a new book. Although it’s filled with hopes, excitement, and expectation; however, it takes time for us to truly experience all the buzz that it is said to possess, only after our having to live through all the newness, discomfort and stumbles within the short distance after the start line.
