Holiday Illusion

If you are single like me, who will spend the holidays away from our loved ones, it is so easy for us to feel the holiday blue when we are out and about. The sight of lovers holding hands with each other can potentially trigger our deepest sadness.

We see, feel and assume. This is what humans do, naturally. Because of these innate tendencies, it takes just seconds for us to get caught up in the public display of illusion. We assume that people in an intimate relationship must have been luckier, happier and more blessed than we are, without knowing what we see with our eyes could have been an act, put forth by them, and might not represent what’s truly going on behind their closed door.

In this holiday season, if you are feeling the holiday blue, triggered by the public display of illusion in the street, please redirect your attention to focus on the luxuries of being single. Enjoy all the freedom and tranquility to the fullest. Don’t ever feel down in this time of year. All the lights of color are there to cheer you on!
